Swaps and shopping

Ok this is just an update about how excited I am to do my first swaps.

For the March mini swap I sent my partner three tonal minis, some stitch markers, a cute little velvety bag (that I put them in) and a bunch of mini bunnies, cause chocolate is always welcome. It has arrived and it is loved, which made me so so so happy.

Then on Thursday, after a fairly sucky day/week, I got home to find the most amazingly gorgeous package from my partner on a different swap, the Green Swap.

Look at what I got!

I received some beautiful handmade items,

a yummy hand cream (knitting is awesome but you do get dry hands, cracking and bleeding are not so much fun), the most amazeballs green kitty button (which I’m thinking of using as a bag closure to display its amazingness), apple trolli jelly sweets, kinder bueno eggs, almond ritter chocolate, ginger and lemon grass chai latte,

a GORGEOUS card with a super, super sweet note.

On the same day, a couple of things I was waiting for to put into my Green package and Rainbow swap arrived (both are being sent out in the next few days) so I was even more excited!

And to make my week even more better, I spent the day with my mum, my two sisters and the little son on Friday, we shopped, ate and shopped some more, and best of all son number 2 enjoyed it as much as we did!

Beading, rainbows and Prison Break

I’ve been off this week, doing my version of the doctors suggested resting. So I have still done course work, housework and a bit of crafting and lot’s of watching Prison Break!

I’ve finished a homemade item for my green swap, started one for my rainbow swap, got my mini skeins sorted for the mini swap, decided on a few other bits I want to make for them and got an idea for sweets and treats to send. Feeling good about all that.

Now I just need to continue with my spring clean crafting: finishing up my UFO’s and working through my stash (yes I am still buying more but only for projects, not just because). Once the stash is manageable, I get to restash 😀 and since I started really crafting again I have found so many amazing sites with fantastic yarns and not all of them are expensive, so the reward for stash management is a beautiful, smooshy new stash. Now to work!

A.W.M.P, absent with multiple projects

I haven’t blogged much in the last week or so, mainly because of the half term with two boys and partly cause of working on multiple projects. However as some are finished, more are being started and I have started to use ravelry as the social site rather than where I store patterns I want to do.

At the moment I am

  • Waiting for my beautiful yarn and beads to start my first KAL, An Unexpected Journey (which I am late joining)
  • I am in my first TWO swaps, a Green themed swap and a Rainbow themed swap. So I’m stalking and crafting like a crazy woman to get the perfect swap box. I’ll post photos of mine and my swapees after they have been received.
  • Writing my year two chemistry project
  • Trying to work through my stash of yarn and patterns
  • Finishing and blocking my test pattern work so that I can send the photos over
  • Signed up to design a Hogswatch gift for a Discworld character as part of one of the ravelry groups I joined

I promise I’ll put photos up as soon as I can, it’s still a secret 😉

I’m super crazy excited about the swaps and I’m going about it in my usual obsessive behaviour.
